Hey there!
August Is turning out to be a bigger month for the Eric Openshaw Band than I originally anticipated. I had originally planned on having a show or two here and there, but then all of these invitations to play at venues started rolling in. So let’s just go in order. HA! Friday the 14th we got invited back to play at one of our favorite places, Club Allure. We will be headlining the night with our friends American Hollow opening up for us. Those guys are so awesome to take that gig so last minute (they said yes just this past Tuesday!). Admission is completely free if you contact me and have me put you on my guest list! The same weekend we are playing at the Park Silly Market in Park City on the 16th. They originally had us planned for a different day and a tiny stage. Now they’re having us headline! Woah! We’ll be playing a nice acoustic band set.
The next Friday I’m off to Seattle to perform up there solo for about a week and hanging out with my good friend, Joshua Adams and his band. Check them out at: http://www.myspace.com/ace1979. I’ll be playing a festival show, and just having a great time.
Then later in the month I’ll be playing (the day after I get back from Seattle) at the University of Utah on the 27th, the first week of classes. I’m pretty stoked to see all of your awesome faces! And lastly, I’ll be on Utah FM on the 28th hanging out with Daniel Gentry.
I’m stoked that this month worked out so well. For further info, check our calendar at http://www.myspace.com/ericopenshaw
Thomas and Rob will be starting school again here soon, Good for them for staying with it! Rob is staying pretty tight with his solo project which is getting some great recognition. Check it out at http://www.myspace.com/robalvord. Tom is keeping busier than I could ever hope to be playing in about 5 projects simultaneously! What a drive he has! Check him out at http://www.myspace.com/thomassienko.
Currently I’ve been trying to do some work on my guitar amplifier, and I’ve also been doing some really fun projects in my new studio, not my projects…yet. If you, or anyone you know is interested in doing some recording cheap, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. I can give you a full list of tech specs. I have top of the line equipment and am willing to sit in on any session you might have.
Let me know when you’d like to check us out this month! I’d love to have you come party it up with us.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for supporting us! We love you more than you can know for it!
